It’s frustrating to keep re-typing all those pesky (but oh so important) hashtags when you’re a regular Instagram user administering separate accounts.
Not only is it easy to make a mistake, there’s the danger you’ll neglect to include a tag you’ve been following. You end up deleting the post, retyping and trying again… which isn’t ideal when you’ve got many irons in the fire.
Since I’ve been managing four professional Instagram accounts, the need to have some quick posting hacks has really come to the fore. I’m in and out from one to the other and need to make sure all the necessary information is included for each post.
Here’s how online note-taking app Evernote has been the ideal solution:
- I have a separate notebook for each Instagram account.
- Each clearly defined Instagram topic (ie place, product, service) has a separate paragraph in the notebook, listing off the relevant hashtags
- I copy the relevant hashtag group, then paste it into Instagram
- If I know I’m going to write a longer Instagram post, I draft it up in Evernote – this way I can check for typos before posting
You could of course just have a word document and work from it, but the beauty of Evernote is that it’s completely mobile. I have the app on my phone and can add to it wherever I am. I don’t have to remember to update a standalone document on my desktop, then share it around to my other devices.
Now, I just have a free account so you don’t need to fork out any money for this fantastic fix – ideal for the DIY business storyteller or social media manager working across different accounts.
